Cost

Childbirth Classes

Total course cost for a regular series is $300 per couple
A “crash course” is typically $175 per couple

A $50 non-refundable deposit secures your place in class. The balance is due at the first class meeting. Payments by cash, check, or Paypal accepted.

The $300 per couple fee includes: the full course, a class workbook, lecture, discussion, video, and guided practice as well as the optional (but fun!) group reunion after all babies are born. Please note that a refund will be considered if a situation arises in which you cannot continue classes.

Additional reading will be required and these books can be purchased, borrowed, or found at your local library.

Labor Support

Total cost for these services is $400.

A $200 non-refundable deposit is due when hired as your support person, the final balance paid at your post-partum visit. Payments by cash, check, or Paypal accepted. Email carisa@birthseasons.com to request Paypal payment

What is My Fee Based On?
When I commit to a birth, I am fully available 1 week before and 1 week after your estimated due date (though I certainly do all  I can to be there if you go earlier or later than this range).  I must also be available at all hours. This is a significant commitment for me with young children, and I may need to pay for childcare while attending a birth.

Many Doulas in the Seattle area charge between $600 and $1500 for services. Mine is set lower because I do not bring the same experience that many of these support people do. I am in the beginning of my professional experience and hope that my services and initial lower fee will be of benefit to you as building my experience through the support of your birth will be to me. In considering meeting with and hiring me, please know that I have complete confidence in my ability as your professional support person and believe it is a special honor to work with you.
